The work attempts to make visible class aspirations, the psychology of taste, and identity through decorating. The paintings are a vehicle through which to explore the use of the domestic as a way of covering up, occupying, and rationalizing life. The viewer must confront the obsessions, compulsions, and the drive for perfection that is often disguised, repressed, and concealed by culture.
